At BGMAA we use a belt grading system. The different colors represent the different levels of the students. In order to grade to the next level a student  must demonstrate the knowledge and capability to perform the necessary requirements of that belt and have attended the required number of classes.

The belt colors are as follow:

White * Orange * Green * Red * Midnight Blue

At BGMAA we practice the Moo Duk Kwan style of Tang Soo Do. With this style the black belt, or dan rank, is represented by a midnight blue belt.

In Korean culture the belief is that black symbolizes perfection. As no one is perfect, our black belts wear midnight blue to indicate the student is still learning and improving their knowledge and skills "continues development"
